Knockin' On New Physics Door

The discovery of the Higgs Boson filled in the last vacancy in the Standard Model puzzle. All the particles predicted by the Standard Model have been discovered, including photons, electrons, neutrinos and quarks. Alas, this seemingly complete puzzle has not made Physicists happy. Its foundations seem not to be on a solid ground. The model does not predict the masses of matter particles, and we do not understand the hierarchy of the particle masses, i.e. why some of them are so much heavier than others with unnatural differences.
